Peace & Justice Meeting
Tues. 5 June 2007
Robert opened our meeting with a prayer.
1. DVD / tickets / popcorn. We postponed the event until 8 July so that we could get better organized. Jo Carter is to buy popcorn. We decided that this was easier than cleaning the popcorn machine. Larry Pepper will print the tickets. In Julie Martins’ absence she was assigned organizing the distribution of the popcorn after each service on 8 July.
2. Susie Simcox brought up the idea of inviting a speaker, or having a forum on alternatives to fossil fuels. This was discussed, but no specific action was taken.
3. We discussed our next education forum. We set two possible dates: 23 Sept. and 16 Sept. Some names suggested were Alida Graham, Jan Mandernach, and Wayne Honeycutt. – The following day Kathy Pepper got an Email from Alida that she would be available on 16 Sept. but likely not on the 23rd.
4. We discussed getting a guest preacher for next year’s Peace & Justice Sunday. Robert is to discuss this with the staff.
5. Our next meeting will be 17 July 2007 at 6:30 p.m.
